2013 Semester Final Project:
Each student will create a book using the free app Book Creator. The project will take several weeks and will have daily assignments and instructions for each page. The completed book will serve as the final exam for our class this semester. The book title will be My Life and Yours: Comparing the Worlds of an American and a ____________ Teenager. Classwork Timetable:
11-20-13 - Download "Book Creator" App and create the cover.
11-21-13 - Complete book cover and download "I Am From" poem template
12-02-13 - Complete "I Am From" poem (template found below) *Quiz grade - completion
12-03-13 - Type "I Am From" poem and transfer it to page 6 of book. Find or create picture representing a favorite line from poem for page 7. Create book dedication (type and audio) on page 3 of book. Pages 1-7 should be complete by end of class. (I will provide table of contents later.)
12-04-13 - Create a world map locating New Braunfels and your other city for page 8. Find a large picture of each city for page 9. Compare "place" using pictures of New Braunfels and your other city for pages 10-11.
12-05-13 - Find total population, population per square mile, and a population density map for the USA and your other country. USA info and map on page 12, other country map and info pg. 13.
12-06-13 - Find at least four examples of Human Environment Interaction in USA or Texas and your other country. USA or Texas page 14, other page 15. Must have captions/labels on each picture. *Quiz grade on Friday.
12-09-13 - **Major Test Grade for completion of pages 1-15!!!!!
12-19-13 and beyond - pages 20-32....some home audio required...interviews, etc... Each page must have pictures and a title. Some pages require audio. See "book project" document for required audio pages. Each audio segment must be at least 10 seconds and can be up to 2 minutes. Be interesting!! Make it uniquely you. Each class has a scheduled final exam day. Your project is due the day of your class' final.
1st Period Final - Tuesday December 17
2nd and 3rd Period - Wednesday December 18
4th and 6th Period - Thursday December 19
5th and 7th Period - Friday December 7
Finals week - **Entire book project due on designated class final day!!
